Cook ahead and freeze pasta experiment!

I was watching a YouTube video about different things I didn’t know you could freeze. Pasta was one of them! You just boil the pasta and freeze it. Then all you have to do is thaw it in hot water and voila… it’s done. I know this coming week we are going to have pasta salad Wed. and mac and cheese Thurs. So I decided to go ahead and give this a try.

I cooked the pasta until it was just al dente, rinsed it in cold water, added a little olive oil, packed it flat, getting as much air out as possible (and to make it easier to store)… I divided the macaroni into 2 quart Ziploc bags and the rotini in a gallon Ziploc bag (we love pasta salad!).

I’m excited to see how this turns out… what a time saver!
